Organizations, Workspaces, and Folders

Upgrading to an Enterprise plan changes the team hierarchy for all users compared to the standard plan.

Organization

In Framer, an organization represents the top level of hierarchy, typically for companies, large teams, or institutions. It acts as the central entity where all workspaces and projects are housed, facilitating centralized management.

The Enterprise Plan centralizes billing at the organization level, encompassing all workspaces and members. For instance, a member may belong to multiple workspaces within the organization but is only billed once.

At the organizational level, you can oversee all your workspaces and members and manage settings centrally. Key management features include:

  • User Management: Oversee all organizational users by adding or removing them, assigning roles and permissions, and monitoring access rights across various workspaces. Learn more about user management in organizations here.

  • Permissions and Access Controls: Manage security, visibility, and access controls at the organization level. It is possible to standardize these settings across all workspaces to accommodate large teams with varying access needs.

  • Details: Update your logo and organization name, and view the number of workspaces within your organization.

Workspaces

Within an organization, there may be multiple workspaces. A workspace serves as a collaborative area where a team manages and works on various projects. Each workspace can host its own members, who may have different roles and permissions.

Key points about Enterprise Workspaces include:

  • All projects within the Enterprise workspace benefit from Enterprise features such as custom code, canonical URLs, and higher limits.

  • You can make custom fonts available across all projects by uploading them in your settings.

  • It's possible to share components across projects by including them in your team library.

  • Team members can hold varied roles at both the workspace and project levels.

Folders

Within a workspace, you can categorize your projects into different folders.

To create a folder, click the "+ New Folder..." button in the right-hand sidebar and enter your desired folder name. If you start the name with an emoji, that emoji will represent the folder.

After creating a folder, you can move any project into it by using the "Move" option found under the three-dot icon on your dashboard.
