Marginalia

Marginalia is a free magazine website template for Framer that helps independent publishers launch an issue-based magazine, quarterly or newsletter. Every issue has its own cover, colour and editor's letter, and the whole site follows it: publish a new issue in the CMS and the home page, the cover and the colour change with it.

What makes it different

• A real magazine cover. The current issue's title is set in large editorial type beside its number in the issue colour. The cover photo opens with a colour wipe and a live dateline shows your city's local time.

• Every back issue on show. Past covers turn slowly in a 3D ring under the cover. Hover one and the whole page is washed in that issue's colour.

• Built for long reading. Story pages have a sticky margin with an automatic table of contents, margin notes, a pull quote and a reading-progress bar.

• Paper / Ink theme switch. Light and dark, remembered per visitor. Every colour is a style, so re-theming takes minutes.

• Membership page with three tiers, a monthly / yearly toggle and an FAQ.

• Paywall-ready stories: an Access field, a locked card and a free-preview layout.

• Podcast page with an audio player, show notes and a transcript on every episode.
