How plugins work

Discover how Framer plugins can transform your design process and enhance your projects. In this article, you will learn what Framer plugins are, where to find them, and how to use them.

Framer plugins are third-party tools or add-ons that extend functionality within Framer. These plugins allow users to customize their design workflows, automate repetitive tasks, and integrate external tools or services.

Where can I find new plugins?

The best place to find Framer plugins is in the new plugins section of the Framer Marketplace. You can also find some plugins directly within Framer under the Plugins menu.

How do I install plugins?

Installing new Framer plugins is simple and only takes a couple of clicks.

From the Framer Marketplace:

  1. Navigate to the plugin detail page.

  2. Click the "Open Plugin in" button.

  3. A dropdown menu will appear with your recent projects. Select the project to which you want to add the plugin.

From Framer:

  1. Click the Plugins button in the top bar. A modal window will open, displaying the available plugins.

  2. Browse the list of plugins or use the search bar to find a specific plugin. Press Enter or click the plugin to open it.

  3. After pressing Enter or clicking the plugin, a new popup window will display the selected plugin.
