Bunq’s website migration with Framer

“I’d recommend Framer to anyone who is thinking about moving from Webflow. It’s so much easier to go from 0-100, even if you don’t know HTML or CSS”

bunq is an Amsterdam-based neobank focused on simplifying finances and giving users full control. Founded in 2012, it has grown into a $1.8 billion fintech expanding internationally. To support its growth, bunq sought a localization solution to boost website performance and deliver relevant content.

As an international fintech company, bunq needed a website that could handle localization seamlessly while allowing their marketing team to move fast. After migrating from custom code to Webflow, they still faced challenges—Webflow’s enterprise localization solution combined with Weglot didn’t provide the control or performance they needed. Upon learning about Framer’s localization features, bunq decided to explore a better solution.

A Faster, More Flexible Platform

One of bunq’s main objectives was improving page speed for localized domains, which had been slowed down by Weglot’s approach to translations. Within a week of launching on Framer, bunq saw immediate performance improvements thanks to Framer’s server-side rendering. The team also appreciated Framer’s ease of use, which allowed them to create and update pages effortlessly without relying on developers.

Seamless Migration and Experimentation

Instead of a full redesign, bunq simply migrated their existing site to Framer in just two weeks, making minor design and usability improvements along the way. Integrating analytics tools like Google Analytics, Adjust, and Snowplow was straightforward, thanks to Framer’s native cookie banner integration with Google Tag Manager. With their new site live, bunq is now running A/B tests using VWO, leveraging Framer’s ability to quickly duplicate and modify pages for data-driven optimization.

Enterprise Support That Moves

Fast While support wasn’t a key factor in bunq’s initial decision, it quickly became one of their favorite aspects of Framer. A direct Slack channel with Framer’s support team gave them instant access to engineers, product specialists, and marketing experts. When bunq encountered tracking issues right before launch, Framer’s team jumped in within hours to diagnose and resolve the problem—something they had found difficult with Webflow’s slower enterprise support.
